Tom woke up on Monday morning and felt very bad. His head hurt and his throat was sore. He called the doctor's office and made an appointment for 2 o'clock. At the doctor's office, Tom sat in the waiting room for ten minutes. Then the doctor called him. She asked Tom some questions about his symptoms. Tom said, "I have a cold and my throat hurts." The doctor looked at his throat and took his temperature. It was 38 degrees. The doctor said, "You have a cold. Rest at home and drink warm tea. I will give you some medicine." Tom took the medicine and went home. He stayed in bed for two days. On Wednesday, Tom felt much better. He was happy to go back to work.
