A Rainy Afternoon

It was Saturday afternoon and rain fell hard outside. Maya looked out the window and sighed. She wanted to play in the park, but it was too wet. Her mother smiled and said, 'Let's do something fun at home!' They made hot chocolate together in the kitchen. It was warm and sweet. Then Maya found her old art supplies in a box. She painted a picture of the rain and trees. Her little brother Tom came and drew with her too. After that, they played a board game and laughed a lot. By evening, the rain stopped. Maya was tired but happy. 'Today was a good day,' she told her mother.
